of a Trash Fire
An
orange juice carton writhes in tinted death,
Avowals
of recycling smoke and flameAnd boldly from the waxy cardboard shield
The cartoon orange leaps to its funeral pyre
On burning lines of fine and legal ink
That once assured the green consumer that
The juice contained therein was pure of heart
And gladly sacrificed its life for us.
