Solitary Definement

Your cell cannot be opened from within
Because that is the nature of a cell
Because that is the function of a cell
That one is kept within and not without

“SILENCE!”

Someone outside will have to open the cell
Having ordered the jailer to go away
To wherever it is that jailers go
He will open the door to a sudden fear:

“SILENCE!”

Your individual defense perimeter
Will cease to be a definition. What then?

silence
