Censorship Sends us to Literature
Those poor oppressors – oh, how sad they are!
They cut and paste our words to match their scripts
They make books disappear from the GossipNet
They empty libraries of toxic texts
And yet
Ahkmatova and Solzhenitsyn live
With Pasternak and Thomas Mann, Remarque
Proust, Werfel, Hesse, Grossman, and Milosz
On shelves, in hands, before our grateful eyes
Oppression makes the game more interesting
Because it leads us to great works of art
